The most visible of the Foundation's activities are the seasonal nature walks. In collaboration with the State Forest administration and other organizations, the Foundation has sponsored public nature walks to show off the Forest's character at various seasons of the year. These include the Margaret Denison Nature Walks in the fall, the Osbra Eye Wildflower Walks in the Spring and a Winter Nature Walk.
The Foundation also sponsors a summer Concert in the Forest in celebration of West Virginia's Birthday.

Many of the Foundation's activities are less prominent, but no less important to visitors of the Forest. In addition to hands-on volunteer work in trail maintenance, the Foundation members work to raise funds and matching grants to update park facilities and provide additional tools for the use of the Forest's staff.
